Friday 25th December Part 2
|
After a late night in the bar and smoking lounge, after bumping into Paul Pallant an old adversary from Lakenheath CC, we awoke at 8am and went down for the complimentary breakfast once more on South Africa Airways, breakfast today was worth going down for at least.
We then headed off back to the airport once again to continue our journey, checked-in and went through departures. Having forgotten my sunglasses, a pair were bought in departures, might need them in Cape Town :-)
Walking around the airport we then stumbled across a smoking lounge, very civilised over here in SA. This particular room was blacked out and when entered had dimly lit areas, had we inadvertently wandered into a lap dancing joint, we had not but could certainly pass. |

Having arrived at Durban after a quick one hour hop, we regrouped in the arrivals lounge, unfortunately one of the groups case went missing so a small delay with all the paperwork.
With us running late we transferred straight to the restaurant for dinner. Before hand myself and Greenie went for a quick surf and were snapped by one of the group as we came back.
Dinner was a selection of meats, Fillet Beef, Turkey, Gammon and Lamb plus a mixture of vegetables. Desert was a very good traditional Xmas Pud which certainly had something strong in it.
Russ has been very patient over the last few days and I'm sure I will be reminded of this over the coming weeks :-) |
Now checked into the hotel which is comfortable and only a short walk to the Kingsmead Ground. Weather has been overcast since we got here with some rain on and off, I expect we will see some more rain tomorrow. Very humid in Durban and we will be partaking in some hospitality suites to keep cool, if it's not raining. Will hopefully introduce you all to the first "Analyst" show this evening, as he shares his views on the trip so far and the 2nd Test starting tomorrow.
